Just wanted to introduce myself.

I am pre-med (or maybe pre-PA, can't decide), 30 year old wife and mother to 2 girls (ages 2 and 5). I stay home with them during the day and go to school full-time at night. Because we also live in a very bad school district I am homeschooling my oldest on top of everything else too.

I thought I was interested in Nursing until someone pointed out to me that it was not medicine like I truly thought it was. So now I am going the pre-med route. Fortunatly all my classes I have taken so far are not "nursing" sciences, but the "real" stuff so I'm not set back any...just more classes to take! LOL

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Marilyn

Hello and welcome to SDN. I wish you luck in your up coming pre-med journey. It is a challenge with kids ( my girl was 3 1/2 when I started and my son was 11).

Amy B and I (and several others) are proof that you can do this! I have 3 kids, 9, 7&7. It took longer than I wanted for me to finish my prereq's, but I did last year, took the MCAT, applied, and now I'm preparing to start med school in August. 😀

Hi and Welcome!

I am also proof that med school with a family is possible. I have two girls, 5 and 7, and my son (surprise!) was born in August - 2 weeks into my first year.

SDN is a great resource, but also check out www.mommd.com if you haven't found it already.

Welcome! I'll be headed to school this fall after working full time for 6 years and taking some pre-med classes. When I start my kids will be 4 and 1. Enjoy these boards, and good luck with your classes and decisions!

Good for you, MamaMD,

I homeschool as well. Everything is possible🙂

mamaMD, don't worry about it - it's just a derogatory term from a new poster who thinks he's pretty funny. 🙄

I am new too, and looking at making a mid career big change. I am just starting to take the pre-reqs.

BTW, you probably do not want to know what MILF stands for, but hear it is Moms Id Like to F.

Obviously there are some real immature pre-meds in this crowd.

holy crap... find some humor in the world. quit taking yourselves so serious. sarcasm is funny.
