Hey everyone! So I took the plunge today on a new iPad Pro 12.9" 64GB. I love the screen size, the feel of the 2nd gen Apple pencil, the ability to annotate/erase notes easily, and being able to keep it all in one place with the added benefit of hand-written notes to text for quick finding. What I'm wondering is will 64GB be enough internal storage for the needs of downloading all the books necessary and keeping all the annotated pdfs available via internal storage? I'm more than happy to keep utilizing Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, etc. but if you were in the position of transitioning the bulk of your computing work to a tablet, would 64GB suffice?

As long as you don’t stuff it full of movies and games it should be adequate.

64GBs will get you a long way if you're only using it for text documents. As was stated, if you start adding movies (often around 4-10GB per movie) or games, 64 will run out quick. Be conservative with it and 64 will do everything you need.

You could probably get a computer that has 4 times the storage for the same price.

Thank you and I appreciate the reply greatly. I decided to stick with the newest 2018 iPad Pro 12.9" as hopefully being my sole notetaker/whatever for campus use. I like the touch interface. Call me old-fashioned, but damnit if it hasn't made transitioning from paper to not-paper incredibly easy.

Best of luck to you by the way, thanks for your time.

Moving your docs into Dropbox makes it easy to access files on your iPad, Apple isn’t quite figured out how to make that easy yet & that hack makes all the difference in making an iPad useful

Another option I love is OneNote + OneDrive. Integration across devices is pretty great and it also tries to read your handwriting/lecture slides so you can use the search function.
