Hi there!

I recently got a job as a mental health pharmacist at a hospital and was wondering if I could get some information from any pharmacists that work in the mental health setting. Specifically, what do you do on a daily basis?

Thanks! Any info is much appreciated 🙂

Do you have your job description handy? We could probably give you a decent real world interpretation if we saw that. I once worked with a psych pharmacist. She basically did all of the admission into our psych unit and a lot of discharge counseling. Med review was a big thing for her.

Well the job description is basically a standard for all clinical pharmacists in the hospital but I was specifically looking for what pharmacists do on the psych floor, other than enter orders.

Thanks for the reply!

the job is usually not needed and will be the first to let go when the hospital budget becomes a problem.

I don't live in the States. The prospects of finding clinical jobs here are good (ie. do not need a residency).

Why not just openly say where you live?

The prospect of finding clinical jobs w/out residency is still good in the states. Just saying.
