I read with great interest this months ASA newsletter. In one section there is mention that a new journal is currently in the early planning stages. It mentioned being more clinically focused as opposed to the basic science approach of Anesthesiology.

Personally I can't wait! I love to read case reports and clinical discussions. Our current journals don't have enough of this. I think NEJM does a pretty good job, especially with online multimedia content. Hopefully we can have something similar.

It would be great if it were free too. 😀

Apparently it's more "clinically" oriented. This would be great. I wonder who would then read the regular journal?

LOL.

I certainly agree that the Anesthesiology tends to be more basic-science and academic-oriented than I would prefer. The new journal sounds like a good idea. In the meantime, I find Anethesia and Analgesia to be a better balance with more clinically relevant material. It is now available online also.
