Is anyone else doing really bad on the Kaplan Qbank questions? My average is in the mid 50s and some in the low 50s. I feel like some of the questions test you on random stuff. Kind of freaking out right now! :scared:

Anyone else feeling this way? Any advice on how to raise my score.

Kaplan Qbank, the new one, I think is at least as hard as World. I began averaging in the low 60s, but by the time I was finishing the last third of the questions, I got into the low-mid 70s. Don't give up hope, their difficulty is probably an 8/9 out of 10 compared to the real test which is about a 7 I would say. I won't get my scores for another 3 weeks, so can't tell you what it equates to.

Their score estimator is bogus/unfounded, by the way, considering those questions and the answer choices are generally new. You can figure out their formula if you just mess around with the total correct (# of questions doesn't matter if it's over 200).

Thanks for trying to make me feel better. Some of the questions are very hard and random. I guess I should use it as a study tool rather than giving up hope. Was the real test more like kaplan or USMLE world?

I would say, from the little UW I did, it was more like UW. Kaplan was a little too challenging and on rare occasions extremely nit-picky. I thought it was good prep, though, and covered a lot of areas. Kaplan was very heavy in cardio and treatment (my real test unfortunately wasn't), but was lighter on preventitive medicine and diagnosis. Keep it up, though. If you have enough time, finishing with UW might be the best thing. Again, as I've said elsewhere, I doubt that there's that huge of a difference.

Agreed. Kaplan QBank was a lot more difficult than my CK, especially with QBank's cardiology being so ridiculous. UW felt much more like the real CK.
