I've heard that there's a new matching system beginning this year (next year?) that will make it more difficult for FMG to get residency spots. Is this true or just a rumor? It's mentioned in the comments section of the SDN article interviewing the Ross Med School Dean. Just curious. Thanks.

i think you're talking about the SOAP system? i believe it has something to do w/ the scramble process, not so much with the actual match.

Correct. The main match remains completely unchanged. The scramble becomes SOAP. Whether or not this helps or hurts IMG's is unclear. SOAP starts in 2012, so NOT with this match cycle.
