I am currently a freshman so I'm not in a rush to start studying for the MCAT. However, I know new topics have been added that make the test much longer and possibly harder. With the new topics added when would be the optimal time to take it and what should the class timeline look like, i.e. What classes should I take fall of sophomore, spring of sophomore etc. to be ready for the test?

Hi, I am a freshman going into my sophomore year, Now that Bio Chem is required for MCAT, I am not able to take that until senior year as my sophomore year, i am taking chemistry and Junior year will be taking Physics and Orgo and Senior year will have Bio chem. Any Ideas on what I should do? I have participated in SMDEP this summer and will be finishing up in August at Columbia and I was wondering how the application process works if I won't be able to take my MCAT until senior year?

Take the MCAT your senior year and apply at the end of your senior year, which means taking a gap year.
