Hi! Im new here, my name is Kelly.
I am a Junior in high school, and I am looking to go into medicine in the future.

Right now I am attending an arts school for dance. Because of this, I dont have many electives so I take Chemistry, Biology and Physics in school, and I take things like English, Religion(Catholic School), and some other courses in night/summer school.

My year looks like this:

Dance Advanced Functions Physics Personal Fitness(I made the mistake of not taking gym in grade 9, however this does include some anatomy which is helpful)

Dance Dance Biology Chemistry

While it makes for a pretty easy year, the leftovers I have to take in night school. My average is mid to low 80's, and Dance is pretty much my EC because it doesnt leave much room for other things.

Well anyways, I didnt really get to finish my post because my computer sort of crashed.

I am looking at doing some volunteering at my local hospital but it is really hard to get into the program since so many people volunteer. The hospital is brand new, so I figure that may be a reason for the excess of volunteers.

Im also getting my marks up. For the marks that I am getting I dont have to try very hard, and I am planning on spending more time doing work.

How do my chances look for a good undergrad?

I would say keep on trying to volunteer, if they see you're really interested and assertive it might help your chances though... just don't be too assertive, lol. Going down to the hospital and talking to them as well. If that doesn't work you can always look at other hospitals, or other health clinics.

I'm not sure what your chances would be like, I'm not really familiar with arts schools... how are your ACT/SAT? and what do you consider a good undergrad?

Im in Canada, and here we dont take the SAT's.

Id like to take something like biomedical science or biology, thats my favorite course.

If you are in Canada, you need only need a B average to get into a university. (UBC, U of Alberta, U of Manitoba, U of Ontario .. .etc)

Mmmm, you might be able to get scholarships.

I don't plan on majoring Dance or anything, maybe a minor? Or just some elective dance courses? What would be the most beneficial if i wanted a scholarship?

It probably depends on the program, if you danced on a team (I'm not sure how that works, I've never been into dance) then they might just require you to try out for it, and it wouldn't have to be a major or minor... I would expect it to be kind of like a scholarship for football or soccer... idk... anyone? lol.
