Hello! What are your thoughts about new programs? I know few programs that just started a year or 2 ago. Nyu langone California, NYU langone, Phoenix( which is a private office, interesting) . What are the chances these programs will be CODA accredited. Appreciate your response. Good luck everyone.

A lot of these new programs are dependent on their program director. I remember back in the day certain NYU langone programs were more popular than others because of the way their program director was running the residency. Sometimes too it just happened to be in a cool city like San Diego! I've met some residents at NYU Phoenix and they seem to enjoy their time in the program. Not sure about the CODA accreditation stuff.

I shadowed at the Phoenix program and while the clinical volume was high, it didn’t feel like a supportive learning environment. The atmosphere was tense, and residents seemed more like a workforce than learners. It was eye-opening.
There was visible tension among staff, limited support for resident growth, and very little room for reflection or teaching.
And the program is not accredited yet by CODA 😳

Do yourself a favor and just go to an established university or hospital program.
