Back to the question at hand, schools may start to evaluate differently than giving more weight to NBDE I. A bench test may be an option at more schools. Though the number of seats don't increase, more interview calls to candidates to evaluate than a selective few like previous years solely based on scores etc. (Colorado 2011 example)

Regarding min scores, 75 is the passing minimum. 90 and above was the score to attain until last year. I am assuming starting this year 80 and above will be a good target. The higher the better of course.

80 >>:>?><":>>
I donno man... many first timers i know managed above 90 until last year...so unless the test is made drastically tough, I don't expect the scores to come down that much.
I think it'll stay at 90 + for a seat...

i somewhat agree with VenkatV...the scores have dropped this year...the number of 90s have come down...there will be ppl who score 90 but not as many as last year...

they still give score untill 2012 , this doesnt mean they are not going to see the score as the criteria? shed some light, thanks

Schools need to and will shift focus from just scores. Interview and hand-skills assessment will take higher priority.

hi.. so does that mean that if u apply in 2012 the scores wont matter... since then the exam would be just pass n fail... so for people who have appeared before that will have a score sheet... will that change anything....

I guess nobody can tell how it's gonna be😕.Because it is not mentioned anywhere. And as ADA has change the rules of NBDE scoring from 2012, now it's dental schools' turn to decide the criteria for selection.
IT"S A WAIT AND WATCH CONDITION!!!!

whatever it is,cant take it easy untill they see your score.

I still dont think that anything will change until the Pass/fail system comes into effect.

I think there will be enough smart candidates who will continue to score 90+ and fill up the limited seats available.

I agree on the interview trend..they seem to be calling people with low scores too..but very few manage to actually get in with low scores (if any)...
