I recently just took Step 3. All I have to say is wow! I felt that it was really tough. Anyone else feel like they were guessing on a ton of questions?
The newly added drug monographs were time consuming so I just made an educated guess and moved on. CCS was not that bad, but I had the typical mess ups like botching a case or two, but I attribute that to exam nerves/mental block or just being tired from day 1. Day 2 felt like the MCQs were even more tough. I gotta pass this test to move onto PGY-2 and I feel like I screwed this test up completely, especially after reflecting on some really dumb mistakes on the MCQ section. I could think of 8 to 10 MCQs that I likely messed up on. This sucks having to wait until June for the results.
I'm in a decent FP program. I am not really the best when it comes to exams probably because I tend to not be as efficient as I'd like when preparing for these things. Step 1 after 3 weeks of study gave me a score of 207. Step 2 CK I walked in cold without studying at all (well more like 2 days of just skimming stuff) and got a 193. I did study for step 3, off and on throughout intern year, finished master the boards and did some questions bank like most people do. Not a whole lot of time in intern year to study for this thing.
