Hello All,
I have a question regarding DO schools in general. I am a post bacc student who has always (until now) only considered allopathic programs. However, I have been doing more research and am also interested in applying to DO schools as well. Is it a terrible idea to apply to both at the same time? I'm sorry if there's a thread on this i couldn't seem to find one. I just realized that although i would admittedly prefer an MD program.....becoming a doctor is what i ultimately want to do and I don't care much about the two letters after my name. Can anyone offer some insight into my thoughts? thank you!

Most applicants that apply to DO schools also applied to MD schools. I did.

It's fine.

I applied to my 3 state MD schools, plus a bunch of DO schools. I didn't apply to any out of state MD schools though.
