I just bought PAT Royal Flush Edition and I do not understand the rules for each of the PAT topics.

Can someone explain the objective of each?

Plus any tips?

I know there's the "wicked sick PAT tutorial" but that doesn't help me too much since I dont know the rules/objectives.

Which sections specifically?

I can tell you about three sections:
Angle ranking_ rank them from smallest to largest
Cube Counting_ count the number of exposed sides
Hole Punching_ fold, punch hole, unfold and count number of holes

I was confused the first time I looked at it as well. There are some instructions in the PAT section of Kaplan blue book.

What do you mean by exposed? It says how many cubes with 3 painted sides for example.

I'm having trouble with TFE rules, and I'm somewhat understand pattern folding (rules but not techniques).

Thanks for your reply!

For the cube counting, pretend the structure is a house and a layer of paint is laid over the outside. All exposed sides will get painted, meaning the bottom will not count. Thats what they mean when they refer to exposed sides.

pattern folding: pattern folds away from you, not towards you

cube counting: think of it as if you took apart a Rubics cube. which sides would be painted (not counting the bottom)
