Hello everyone,
I just changed my mind from dental to pharmacy. Will someone please fill me in and catch me up I am a senior this year and will apply this year. When should I apply? What should I do differently than preparing for dental, and any other helpful hints.
Thanks Everyone 🙂

PharmCAS (the pharmacy school application website) just opened for the Fall '06 cycle. The earlier you apply, the better because most schools go by a rolling admissions process. Have you studied at all for the DAT? The DAT Kaplan book is pretty much the same as the PCAT Kaplan book..info-wise. The only thing the PCAT book doesn't have are those 3-D images. So if you have, you should be just as prepared to take the PCAT. Umm..I would recommend taking the PCAT as soon as poosible. Check the Harcourt website to see if you can still register. Just a reminder though, even if you've submitted your PharmCAS application, schools usually wait until your PCAT scores are in before evaluating your file.

Do you have any pharmacy experience? If not, any health care experience? What prompted you to go for pharmacy? AdCom's would like to see that you are going into it knowing what you are getting yourself into, what pharmacy is all about, and that you have the right intentions. It could also help you when it comes down to writing your personal statement and in giving explanations as to why you decided on pharmacy. The personal statement is a huge part of your application, and if the right intentions aren't there, it will be very obvious to the AdCom. Anyhow, good luck! :luck:
