Just thought it'd be fun to ask! 😀

My New Years resolution is to keep a balanced life. I often find myself either studying too much or too little, exercising too much or too little, eating too much or too little (mostly too much 😉), working too much or too little, and spending time with my friends too much or too little. I want to try to do all the things that I love with the right balance.

To keep this dental related, I also want to floss more!! 😀

Edit: I thought of more dental related things I would like to improve. I'm a big ice chewer, and that needs to stop...but it's so gratifying. I also need to stop eating every single piece of sugary candy that I find.

Quit drinking soda (as I sit here with my giant diet pepsi) and eroding my teeth with the tremendous amount of acid!

Get a better paying job!!!! Since I didn't get any scholarships...I better save more and spend less...(I will miss shopping every weekend...tear...:cry🙂

Come again?

Besides, soda has like what? 300 calories in 1 can give or take? That's almost like a freakin' meal!

I don't gargle cola. How tha hell do people drink such that the soda even touches your front teeth? If you're a white chic, then you may wanna consider taking in more calcium and start working out to maintain muscle mass now. Osteoporosis's a bitch.

And I'm a dude who exercises, so 300 calories is nothing. Make that 0 calories, because it's diet soda.

To everyone:
Always drink water only! 👍

I already stopped drinking soda... there's numerous health reasons to do it (even diet sodas, that was all I previously drank).

My resolution is to stop biting what is left of my freaking nails! Even the dentist I work for rubs it in my face!

What about gatorade/propel/vitamin water?

how's propel and vitamin water different from taking water with a multivitamin? aside from the $1/bottle

and if diet soda is wrong, I don't wanna know what's right. I'll get veneers later to make up for it.

I tried to stop drinking Dr. Pepper around Thanksgiving, but fell off the wagon over Christmas break. One of my resolutions is to get back on the wagon, and the other is to stop relying on my uncanny ability to get good grades without trying. I don't think that it will fly with Human Anatomy this semester.

I'm going to try to spend less time surfing SDN!!

stop smoking...before i get addicted 🙂

Spend more time with my kids and husband before d-school takes over my life. 🙂

My New Year's resolution is to work out regularly throughout the academic school year. I always quit somewhere along the way when I get too overwhelmed with schoolwork. I want to change this. I hope I can. In terms of soda pop, I CAN'T QUIT!!!! I've tried quitting diet Coke numerous times. Each time I fail and relapse into my addiction. I drink about 3 cans of Diet Coke per day plus I cup of coffee (Peet's Coffee). I always get migraines when I try to quit. Good luck to anyone trying to give up soda addictions.:meanie::meanie::meanie::meanie::meanie:

My news years resolution is to stop smoking, re-new my gym membership, study hard in a couple upper division science this semester to get ready for freshmen year dental, and stop drinking so often.
but before that i'm getting wasted on new years.
cheers!

to not let my mother's nagging get to me so much, particularly when it comes to me not having gotten into dental school yet.

to really put "don't sweat the small stuff--it's all small stuff" into practice.

to motivate myself to get back to exercising because it's hard to drag yourself to the gym when your knees ache.

It's awesome you guys are going to stop smoking! My resolution is to live my life without regrets and put my all into everything I do. I want to ROCK dental school.😛

Addicted to Coke and can't quit? Are you drinking really, really old coke? the type that used to have cocaine or whatever in it.

if you're a bigger guy, then try swimming. Teh effects of gravity is counteracted by buoyancy. And try a diet of protein, fats and no carbs. As long as your total caloric intake is low, those lbs'll melt right off.

You love to chew on ice? I remember hearing that ice cravings are linked to anemia. Maybe deficiency of iron or lack of a B vitamin....not sure. It's all over the internet. Then again, you may just naturally love ice. 😀

I love chewing and sucking on ice. I chipped my front tooth when I was younger chewing on ice. I've cut down on it though.

Now I just chew on rocks. I think that's a step up. 😀

There's a lot of conversation on here about chewing on ice and what I'm wondering is if it is really bad for you? I specifically asked my dentist this question and he said that ice was not a problem but that some substances that were less hard WERE a problem. Thoughts?

Isn't chewing on ice / strange, unexplainable urge to eat beets part of the effects of iron deficiency ?

i'm actually a thin girl, with knee problems from running over the summer and a pre-existing patella-femoral condition. swimming has actually been recommended to me before, but pools aren't always the most convenient. i appreciate the advice though. that's definitely something i'll try to push myself to do this year.
