Submitted and paid as well without receiving an initial email. Received a confirmation email of submission but nothing about having to wait for a previous email. Hope this works out for everyone!

Okay so in the did you ever commit a felony, misdemeanor, or violation in the criminal background check area ... if like when you first started driving and you ran a red light and I cannot remember if I was charged I paid a ticket once also at a speed trap along with like 20 other people... is this necessary to mark this on the application? Everyone gets traffic violations once in their life.

I contacted admissions for clarification. They stated that as of July 15, everyone who submitted a primary application is also welcome to submit a secondary- no e-mail invite necessary. However, it won't be for another few weeks before they start downloading primaries from AACOMAS, so it'll be a while before they begin reviewing applications and start sending out secondary invite emails (if you want to wait for one).

Main point: you can either fill one out now or wait until you're invited to do so. Personally, I'm going to submit my secondary ASAP.

Hope this clears up the confusion. 🙂

Can we submit LoR's now as well?

Received a complete email today. Just getting back from a much needed break from applications.

I just copy and pasted the message approving my waiver in a email to them.

Thanks. I was just wonder because it isn't a PDF or anything some can literally type it up and send it. I am aware they have a list from AACOMAS so I guess it works.

Would it look bad if I write down that the physician I shadowed graduated from NYIT?
Edit: Is the photo required?

I just paid the $80 today and it shows up as MARK and gives a merchant address in San Jose CA, not the "This charge will appear on your credit card statement as payment to PAYPAL *NEWYORKINST."

Anyone else with this thing? Will it be converted to PAYPAL *NEWYORKINST." within the 5 days?

They told you it wasent acceptable? I havent heard anything back yet, was gonna call mid next week if I dont hear anything. Im not sure what else they would want for proof...

Perhaps they use to send a actual email and they are not aware that they no longer do so. Either way I'll be giving them a call next week if they don't email me back, and hopefully we can sort this out. I'm in no rush to get the secondary in since I don think they start reviewing until early september.

Secondary application confirmation after paying through paypal.

I just paid, you mean your received an email other than the "thank you for your interest in NYIT-COM make sure to pay the $80 fee ..." Also, how long did it take for the payment to be confirmed .. did you get an email for that

No, I received the supplemental application complete email on 7/24 (when I posted that message). I originally submitted the supplemental on 07/16. Once they receive your payment, you should receive their email soon 🙂

Hey guys, I was verified 7/14 and still did not receive a secondary 3.9+ c/sGPA 29 MCAT. Should I call? What are the prompts? Thank you!

Hey thanks for the reply! I apologize for the apparent ignorance, it's just that I've been inundated with secondaries that I'm trying to send in early and I work full time so sometimes it's easy to get caught up in everything. I appreciate your response though man.

Hi Guys,
NYIT-COM is my top choice, I even shadowed a DO who was an alumni from there. I'm really worried about my stats though. Undergrad: cGPA 2.5, sGPA 2.3, DIY Post-Bacc GPA: cGPA 3.3, sGPA 2.9. Overall: cGPA 3.11 sGPA: 3.08. MCAT 31 (10,11,10). Good LOR's (one from that DO alumni), pretty good EC's, economically disadvantaged and NY state res. Worried about my post-bacc performance. I love this school so much so I really hope that I have even a slight chance.

For the volunteering and hobbies sections on the experience page, are you only including things you did in college? For example, I have been playing volleyball since high school and didn't know if I should include that in the hobby section.

Rule of thumb is if it's JUST in HS = no
If it's something since HS that you've continued = yes

Is NYCOM's residency preference for NYS residents or applicants from northeast in general? I have heard both. Can someone with knowledge of situation elaborate/clarify? thx!
