New York Long Island is ranked 92 in research and unranked in Primary Care
Free tuition, 3 year MD
Guaranteed residency?
Why is it so lowly ranked?

Vs
A school ranked in 20s.

If money is not an issue, which one to choose for MD/MPH?

a "school ranked in the 20s" doesn't help much. Some pros and cons would be better.

Do you want to go into one of the residencies offered NYLI?

Don't choose the school solely based on ranking, a full tuition scholarship is no joke, specially if its into one of the specialties you want to pursue.

Thanks. Yes interested in Pediatrics.
What is the drawback of a 3 year MD ?

the LI campus has a small class of about 20 students, most of whom from the LI area (this is outside the nyc region) and wish to serve there, and within the primary care umbrella of specialties. as such, it's more appealing to a very tiny subset of the general population

Where do the doctors do their rotations? Do they do rotations in different departments or just their choice of specialty?

I dunno but i'd speculate within the nyu li system (it's big enough to cover the core rotations)

What in the world... NYULI is a school you apply and get accepted to with a very specific goal in mind: primary care. You have a very small class, tuition waiver, and guaranteed spot in a PC residency at Winthrop.

You don't mention anything about "the school ranked in the 20s," your career goals, etc. This is such a strange post - for a select set of students interested in primary care, NYULI is incredible. For others interested in research/sub-specializing, it's likely not worth it to even apply. You ask why it's research ranking is so low, and It's not a research school.

What do you specifically want from your career? Answer that for yourself off-line and then choose. These are starkly different options.
