Hi guys,

Not sure if this thread will fly, but I am having trouble identifying who is a NY resident and where you are applying.
So, lets all share where we are interviewing.
best to all,
dan

Hey,
NYS resident here... Check my pre-dents for all of that stuff. Any reason in particular as to why you're interested in NYS residents only (besides the fact that you are one yourself)?

From Long Island. Same, check my pre-dents.

i like to see the spread of schools that New York residents are applying to and how our residence can influence both state schools and private schools decisions.
In short, I like to play with statistics and we can learn a lot from them.

-i'm also wondering why new york doesn't represent a large number of users in this forum.

Yeah I thought that the number of NY'ers here is low, but maybe the site was founded by a west coaster, making it more known there?

From LI, like wirednerv... how about u?

long island 🙂

I found it interesting when fellow applicants find out I am from NY they always ask me about Manhattan (if they have never been there.)

NY residents are probably going to apply to the NY schools and other schools nearby...that is where your odds are. Generally speaking, the west coast schools supposedly stay away from east coasters and some of the smaller southern and midwestern schools tend to show favor to residents of surrounding states that lack a dental school.

( Wirednerv + me + wiggly) = 25 interviews and counting.... NY represent

I heard that californians make up a third of NYU's class.
anyone know the statistics of being accepted to NYU for a NY resident after an interview?

Lol, if you really were the man you wouldn't be so worried about statistics...my guess is that NYU takes plenty of New Yorkers and that you should probably just go ahead and apply there if you are willing to pay their tuition and accept the cost of living there.

I'm in Brooklyn...
