Hello, obviously I'm new to the site. I'm also fairly new to the idea of working towards a MPH.
I am an undergrad, working on my degree in Anthropology. It has always been my intention to become a medical anthropologist. Most schools (with the exception of UConn and a few others) don't have masters, but only phds in medical anthropology.
So before working on that, I'm looking to get my MPH! 🙂
The only problem though is that I have not planned on having any public-health related experience for applying to PH schools.
I am a committed volunteer at the Smithsonian, and a full-time student (21 credits this semester) at my university.
Since I don't have time to train for things like a paramedic (nor do I have the desire to, I'm not ever planning on medical school)...What other volunteer opportunities would suit my major, my personal experience, and my time (as far as training goes) that you think would benefit an application to a PH school?
Also, any other advice would be so appreciated! I apologize for the story.
