They don't come anywhere near 80 at most programs. During your "inpatient months" where you are in the hospital and take call, you may do 60-70, but more often you'll be well under 60 with a monday-friday work week. I'm not a family practice resident, but this is what I've learned from family practice residents at my program and at the program one of my med school friends went into. It's just about the best lifestyle of any specialty that involves direct patient care.
