I'm posting this suggestion in hopes that SDN admins might see it. With all the talk about predents being down, doesn't it seem like the next logical step for SDN is to create a "centralized" SDN version of predents (or mdapplicants) themselves (but for every pre-health path)? For example, they can create one for each of the following:

-pre med students
-pre dental students
-pre pharmacy students
-pre optometry students
-pre-podiatry students
....and so on.

It would certainly give a larger sample size of applicant data, since SDN has much more student traffic...especially if SDN made entering this data part of their registration process. If certain users of SDN didn't want that data shared, SDN can just "mask" that student's identity on the data site, but the data could still be used.

I just want to create this thread as a way to get the conversation started. Perhaps it's a bad idea, perhaps its a good idea...but either way, it's an important thing for SDN admins to potentially look at.

Also, to people like PDIZZLE who take time out of their busy schedules to make sites like predents, thank you SO much for your contribution. This suggestion is not meant to denigrate your sites or your contribution to us predents, it's just a way to see if there could possibly be a more centralized (and more well-funded) option on top of the sites that you already offer.

Again, this is just to get a conversation started with the SDN community. I'm really interested to hear what people have to say about this.
