Hey,

Strange discovery - accidental in fact (the best kind :idea: ).

So, next time you are done developing your western blot, don't pour that ECL solution down the drain... mix it with bleach. You'll get excellent results.

Screw ECL, use colormetric approaches. Promega sells very nice substrates for HRP and AP.

If you're bold and have a molecular imager, use Quantum Dot conjugated secondary antibodies...nice signal to noise ratio.
