Note that answer choice D only distinguishes between bipolar patients and non-bipolar patients. Therefore the non-bipolar patients include both healthy control and schizophrenic patients. Therefore the observation that txn levels in bipolar patients is likely greater than that in non-bipolar patients is seemingly incorrect.

I think both C and D could be correct.
