I replied on the other forum but here is my cost/benefit analysis:
PROs:
-Tuition is paid, books paid, instruments paid, $1100 a month for 12 months, all other school costs paid
- You work as a real dentist
- You help people who really need your services, so you get that sense of satisfaction.
-You get to increase your speed and skills, rather than worrying about overhead and "business" related stuff.
- You focus only on patients.
CONS:
-They choose where you are gonna spend those years, it maybe a rural town waaaaaay out there, or it might be a prison, or a Indian reservation.
-If you fail to pass your boards on time, or classes you owe them everything back times 3!!!!!
-You give up 2-4 years, whereas you could have built your own practice and developed a healthy patient pool.

It is a serious obligation. However, you should not look only at the tuition part, but ask yourself if you really wish to help the unprivilidged?
Wish you the best,
