I noticed these terms but can't know the difference between them. Could anybody explain them, please?

Night shift= usually only in EM, a person works 7pm to 7am, or 8pm to 8am, whatever the schedule is of the program

Night float= incorporated in most residencies now, a resident covers the night shift every night for 2-4 weeks at a time.

Call=can be short or long; short call is until 8pm, 9pm, or 10pm usually, depending on your program. Long call is a 24 hour shift, from when you come in in the morning. Can be in house or home-call. In house call is where you stay in the hospital, home call is where you go home and answer your pages from there.

Moonlight=working beyond the residency schedule at either your hospital or another hospital for additional income.
