I just completed several interviews at NIH and would like to simultaneously wait for my favorite spot to finish interviewing other candidates and secure my other positions.

I told PIs at other positions that I will make decision and will inform them by this Monday, but people at my fav lab want to interview other candidates for the next 2 weeks. I never knew about this cause the interview i had with my fav lab was the last one.

Would it be okay to ask other PIs give me more time (2 weeks) to decide? How would you ask politely? or Do you think I should just go with the guaranteed position?

anyone?? is it appropriate to ask others to give me 2 weeks to consider?

I would also take the sure thing

But my favorite lab's PI is a big guy at NCI and also the medical professor at Georgetown COM. 🙁
Isn't med school application follow the same trend as residency application? The big guy's LOR is better than average guy's LOR?
