NIH Summer Internship status?

The website is very vague right now about giving updates in the middle of October.

The summer internship program terminated all mentions of sub programs for students who never had opportunities to do research, the programs for high school students, the program that was specifically for med students summer, and even their virtual program(that didn’t even get a stipend). Mind you this was after they got rid of all DEI mentions and not during.

I am fortunate enough to have done one but now I have no idea what other programs like it exist to share with others(besides academia and industry).

Obviously, the government is currently in a shutdown. However, a few weeks ago, I was in DC and spoke with numerous NIH officers. My understanding is that all NIH post-bacs and other summer programs have been re-opened for all training-eligible applicants. The only major pipeline program that hasn't reopened due to current NIH priorities is the Fogarty program - i.e. for non-US citizens/PRs.
