In NJ, can a retail pharmacy fill a c3-5 medication written for a 90 day supply? Out of retail for some time and thought only a 30 day supply per fill even if MD wrote for #90 at 1 tab daily. Sorry for saying C2 in topic subject.. asking about c3-5s. For example, MD writes xanax .25mg, 1 by mouth daily, #90.

No problem. Thanks for the help on the edit. This is for practice in NJ however.

It's my understanding that section is talking about labeling requirements for institutionalized patients, not about retail dispensing. 90 day supply is okay in NJ for CIII-CV as far as I know.

I work in the tri-state area in NJ/PA. 90 ds is okay in NJ.

I practice in New Jersey and we're allowed to fill c3 to c5 controlled substances for a 90 day supply with a maximum of one refill.

hello, i had a question regarding C3 and C4 transfers

i know you're allowed to transfer one time. if you have a script with 5 refills and you transfer it for the first refill, i read that you must write void on the front of the script along with other stuff on the back. so does that mean all 5 refills go to the other pharmacy? i thought that NJ can only transfer one refill. then if this is the case, writing void on that script would cancel out the last 4 refills?

You can't transfer just 1 refill off a script. You would have to transfer all the refills to the NJ pharmacy, all the refills but 1 would then be void under NJ law, so they would not be able to transfer the refills back to you.

NY is the only state that does the 1 refill transfer thing, but they do not allow controls to be transferred at all.
