NJ Doctor List is up

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would be concerned if they required that you list all the times you got sued for malpractice when some angry patients try to get back at you. But the law that was passed only makes you list the times within the last five years that you were found at fault and had to pay out. That doesn't scare me that much.

Maybe the wrong way to do it, but maybe a starting point. I think that the "code of silence" that keeps MDs from admitting their errors more openly and willingly (not necessarily publicly) and from telling on others that are simply not competent is a major factor in the trouble we have today. Perhaps this will serve as fuel for conversation?

That is an interesting website. I decided (for the hell of it) to look up the OB/Gyn docs because that is the highest risk specialty to see a typical doc. I looked through about 15 docs before I found one who had had any payments for medical malpractice. The first one I came up with who had any payments had 3 payments over the last five years, ranging from $150,000 to $1,500,000. He finished his residency in 1975.

His profile said that he had more than the "average" number of payments for his specialty, which I found interesting. I also found the following interesting: there were no disciplinary actions taken against him despite having made three payments in five years, a figure higher than the average.

I luv this list. Now I will only go to doctors who did their residency at top programs in the country like NY Presbyterian or UPenn.

If only a state, say TX, made a list of patients who sued doctors repeatedlyonly for financial gain existed.

Oh wait... hypocrites 🙄
