NJMS. I love Tufts but I don't think it's worth the extra money here unless you would be significantly happier in Boston for whateever reason.

I'm in a similar boat deciding between NJMS and a more expensive private school(though not as expensive as Tufts) and I think I'm gonna choose NJMS due to cost and proximity to family/friends.

Where do you want to do residency? Also I wouldn't factor the match list in too much as NJMS isn't going to hold you back from any of the competitive specialties. Also kinda interesting that they're pushing the one farther away. Usually the opposite. What are their reasons for pushing tufts over NJMS?

I've been leaning towards NJMS as well. I think they're pushing me to it because they think Tufts is a better school and might give me better opportunities. They're not really familiar with medical schools/medicine though.

That's understandable. I would explain to them that outside of the top 25ish schools that cost, location preference, and overall fit/happiness matter far more than ranking.
