Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows whether NJMS sends out rejections and waiting lists right after the committee makes the decision or whether they wait for a specific date? My interview was on 10/14 and I still have yet to hear anything.. I called last week and they said there was no decision regarding my application yet and to wait another 2-3 weeks. I'm hearing about people who have interviewed after me that have already been accepted, and am getting really anxious. Thanks!

I've had _lots_ of dealings with the admission's office and here's as definitive a response as you're gonna get 🙂

I interviewed on 9/14 and I didn't hear a response until 11/9, almost exactly 8 weeks later. I even work at NJMS and towards the end of the 8 weeks I stopped by the admissions office a few times. Even after I knew a decision had been made on 11/4 (they told me which day my file was going into committee -always a thursday) they still wouldn't tell me whether I got in.

On the day i got my phone call, the admissions office told me to my face, "no decision had been made yet" ...so my point here is that you just gotta wait. And if your file has already been reviewed you won't hear anything honest from anyone in the admissions office. They're not allowed to tell you any acceptance/rejection info in person or over the phone.

However, if you decide to call them, the most useful thing to ask is what Thursday your file will go under review.

anytime following that Thursday from Saturday til Tuesday you might get a phone call. Dr. Heinrich called me around 9:00 PM on a Tuesday. And if not, the letter probably won't be far behind.

Anyhow, best of luck.

Thanks so much!! makes me feel a little better 🙂
