I took the NMBE block 1 practice exam and got a 560. I still have a while to go before I take my test. The exam said that correlated to a 230 on step 1. I haven't really read much about it so I'm not sure how accurate that thing is.

Was happy enough with my score so far but thought I'd see if anyone knew how good these tests are for prediction.

The other reason I'm asking is because I'm only averaging a 67% in qbank. Almost 80% done.

your average on qbank is about right for that step 1 score. you're on your way to doing well. the nbmes are the best measures of how you're going to do. don't be disappointed though if your score doesn't increase much though from this point, you're already at the upper end of the score range.

Ok, thank you for the info! But someone told me that you need a 65 on qbank to be sure of passing. Low-mid 70's was above average and 80 was an amazing score. Were they wrong?

I've heard that Qbank is a poor tool to estimate scores but what my classmates tell me is that consistent high 60's~220, high 70's~240, high 80's~260. Of course, these are just random guesses 😉
