Should I do the NMBE first without studying BEFORE I develop a study plan?

or save it until September, I've already signed up for it, but I have 30 days to access it. So should I do it immediately without studying?

It depends on what you have done recently. I assume since it's August that you've been finished with 2nd yr for a while. I took one before my dedicated study period but it was right after 2nd year ended and I had studied hard for all the shelf exams

sorry I wasn't clear with my question guys....


I'm referring to the NMBE PRACTICE self assessment exam, not the real NMBE exam.



Should I do it now? before studying? or do it as a "mid-term" part way through?


I plan to write the USMLE step 1 exam November 19th, 2010.
