NMR/IR Do we need to memorize the specific values?

I was just wondering whether we need to memorize all the shift/vibration values. I just have carbonyl and OH groups (1720 and broad 3400) commited to my memory. Do we need to memorize all the others too?
 
in a word, yes, you probably have a 85% chance that it will be on there with specific values
 
Memorize the obvious things - carbonyl group, hydroxyl group, ... don't waste a lot of time on it though - it'll only be a few questions, at most.
