I'm an MSIII going into anesthesia, and I recently tried joining the ASA, but am having trouble. I sent them my application both via fax and post but have heard nothing. I just wanted to know if long delays were a norm or if I might be doing something wrong. BTW I sent out the post and fax in early December. thanks

Applications should be processed within 72 hours. Call their headquarters in Park Ridge and ask to speak with Member Services. (There is a "contact us" link at the bottom of asahq.org) I have dealt with that office several times over the past couple weeks getting a few of my classmates signed up and the staff there has been very helpful and friendly. I'm sure if you explain your situation they'll get it straightened out.

Do what Gimlet said. They are very helpful people. I had trouble getting in touch with the TSA (Tennessee Society) when I moved from NY. So at the ASA meeting I stopped by their booth. Just by filling out their application to renew, they renewed my ASA membership and got me membership in TSA.

They were very helpful people. Assuming the same ones answer the phones, you should be able to get this resolved quickly.

Thanks for the help guys I will try that tonight, sounds like it should be pretty straightforward.
