Is having no DAT scores and indicating a future DAT on AADSAS the same as submitting a set of scores but retaking the DAT (in terms of how ones application will be looked at dental schools?) Im trying to weigh in as to how beneficial it will be to delay my application by retaking the DAT...

Also if I give the DAT end of July...would that still be a competitive time considering that rest of my app is complete and that Im an inernational applicant?

Thanks!

My test is on August 1st.
I heard that the latest you can take and still be considered early applicant is the 1st week of august.

A number of ds will not consider an application without the DAT scores.

when you signed up for your first DAT, did you list schools to send your score reports to?

if so, the score reports get sent to those schools that you listed automatically right after you take your test, so it wouldn't have mattered whether or not you listed your scores or not.

and yeah, like doc toothache said, i'd say a good amount of schools won't even look at your application until you've taken your second DAT or at least send in the score reports from your first DAT.

Oh and just bc you dont list your first score initially doesnt mean they don't see them. your score report from your 2nd DAT shows ALL scores from ALL DATs that you've taken. so they'll see both the scores from your first DAT and your re-take scores.

but, end of july is not too late to take it. at all.
