Hello all,

I haven't received any interview offers expect from Iowa (my home state, where I interviewed 4 weeks ago). Most of my secondaries were sent in early October. My questions are two-fold:

How long does it normally take for schools to respond?

To those who have interviewed at Iowa, what was their response time for you?

I have a 3.68 GPA (3.74 sGPA) and a 33 MCAT (13/9/11), no outstanding legal troubles, and some research/volunteering. The schools I am wondering about are Creighton, Medical College of Wisconsin, Rush, and Loyola. Any ideas?

Have you been small-pooled by MCW yet? I submitted their app early in Aug. and wasn't small-pooled until October. Also, after small-pooling you can be waiting an additional 2 weeks-3+months before hearing back for interviews (if they give you one). Rush and Loyola seem to be very slow too, and I'm currently waiting to hear back from them as well.

Thanks for your response. This is definitely reassuring to hear. How will I know if I have been small-pooled?

I was complete at all schools in August and have only heard from 3.

I have a 33, 3.8 and am still waiting to hear from Rush and MCW.

Thank you both. This seriously made my day better by knowing it may just be a little while longer. Best of luck with the rest of the cycle to both of you.

Yeah, you're fine. I'm at 4 rejections and 1 interview, complete at the start of September. 3.7~ sGPA, 42 MCAT.

In all fairness, you're pretty much in the same boat as me. I worked at NIAID this summer, so I couldn't get my primary done until late June (and it wasn't verified until early August). All my secondaries were done by early September, and of the 12 schools I applied to, I've gotten 4 interview offers (2 of which led to waitlists), 2 holds, and one rejection (3.97 GPA, 32 MCAT). The AMCAS deal probably had something to do with it.

Now if January comes by and you STILL haven't heard back, then I'd start getting concerned.

Great. Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping I'll start getting stuff any time now. I've thought that the AMCAS thing probably messed it up somewhat but I was getting worried. Hopefully I know more in a month. Best of luck to you as well.

If you'd applied earlier, and likely broader, you probably would be swimming in interviews at this point. This is, of course, assuming your application is more than just those two numbers. WashU, Columbia, UMich... many of those would likely interview you on those stats alone.
