Hi,

My GPA is 3.8 Sci, 3.9 Overall.

My DAT score is 23.
I'm in Canada and I applied for 14 different American dental colleges. I haven't heard back from any of them yet. Any comments?

NYU, BU, UB, Harvard, Meryland, Tufts, Texas St. Antonio, Huston, ucla, west virgina, usc, pacific, penn, temple, uic, washington.

They received my documents at late july.

It sounds kind of odd that you didn't get one yet. 🙁

Your GPA and DAT are high enough to get many interview invites.

How about your ECs?

Don't lose your hope and keep your chin up, I am sure you will definitely hear from schools soon.

why dont you take the canadian DAT instead and apply to canadian dental schools? It is a better option for you. Your GPA is competitive for both American and Canadian dental schools.

hows your PS? is it well written. if it has errors or sounds grammatically incorrect that might be a reason.

You will probably get an interview at Tufts, NYU, BU, USC, or UPenn in the next few weeks. There is only a slim chance of getting an interview at any of the other schools and an extremely slim chance (<0.5%) for the ones in Texas and Washington.

If you haven't already it would be ok to call the schools and confirm that they have received all required portions of the applications. Who knows, maybe the schools never received your DAT scores or something like that. Good luck 👍

Nah some weird glitch cropped half the first sentence out of mine when i submitted. I still got 5 interviews despite applying aug8 and missing alot of recommended courses with identical stats. As long as its not riddled w/ errors I think they let stupid things like that slide.

Do schools notify you if you have been rejected?

I did not have stellar DAT Scores so I have a feeling I won't get in this year (but who knows I did have a good GPA). I applied to Minnesota, Creighton, Nebraska, Iowa, and Marquette. Back in June I got a message from Iowa saying I was defered. Marquette said on ADDSAS "Your file remains active in our applicant pool and it will continue to be reviewed". Other ones on ADDSAS just say "Received/Application Complete" or "Received/Under Review" What does this all really mean.. am I basiclly dead or am I still slightly alive? Have all these schools already interviewed.

I don't think it would hurt to call a few of those schools and ask if anything is missing from your application etc. Otherwise I don't think there is much else you can do except make sure things like your rec letters were uploaded by your profs?
