So i havent recieved anything yet! No interviews and no rejections. I emailed all the 6 schools i applied to and 3 of them sent me an emails saying im still "under review". My application was completed after Dec 15 coz of my DAT scores.
I was just wondering if there is any hope at this point or should i just strat thinking of next cycle.

I don't think you should lose hope. Last year I applied really late and because of that my first and only interview was in mid march. However, I do believe that you should start preparing for next cycle. It's crucial that your app gets in, in May/June.

I think there is still time. That being said, if you think you need to start preparing for the next cycle, here is what you should concentrate on:

-APPLY EARLY!
-personal statement. Make sure it reflects on your experiences and your life, and is not simply a fancy letter containing impressive words.
-upper level science courses
-shadowing
-volunteer

The truth is, in one year, the biggest difference you can bring to your application is the personal statement.

There are still some spots left in schools. I think it's the late application that hurt your chances.

not to be a bummer, but i think ur chances of getting in this cycle are slim this late.

#1 you are an international applicant
#2 your GPA and DAT aren't too spectacular at this point of the cycle
#3 you only applied to 6 (of course this may have been because you are international)
#4 most schools have booked up their interviews well into feb/march for less spots

just apply early next cycle and you should get more bites early on. i applied late last year and i thought that really affected my chances of getting interviews.

of course the crazy **** might happen and you get interviewed and accepted. good news, tufts is interviewing a lot right now!

thanks guys!! I dont know as of right now im not losing hope but ive decided tha March 1st is gonna be my deadline. If nothing by then, then i start studying for the June/July American DAT and start thinking bout applying come may.

I was placed in the exact same position as you. I am from Toronto and wrote my Canadian DATs in November. My scores were not completed until mid-late December and American school did not receive them till sometime in January. I summited my AADSAS application early December.

I haven't heard back from any of the schools in the US. Maybe I should try contacting them again? I am just hoping they are still giving out invitations especially columbia and upenn. But knowing those schools I am guessing they did.

Has any canadians that wrote their cDAT in November got an interview?

Looks like I am in the same boat as well with no interviews! Makes me sad in my heart! 😉 My top choice is Creighton, I was waitlisted there last year, looks like I may be in the same position again! Lets all keep our fingers crossed for eachother!!!!!

Thanx but i already got my rejection from UBC. It was my first ever. Not to mention the lady who handed it to me made me feel like i was the worst applicant they had ever had.

I got two rejections in one day - Maryland and Temple. Temple couldn't even be bothered to spend the money on postage to send me an actual letter (I received an email), but they were eager to take MY money! 😛

So i called NYU today coz i was really getting tired of waiting and wanted to know what was goin on. To my utter surprise, they tell me that my DAT scores havent been recieved as yet, even thou i got them Dec 15. So now i applied to 6 schools and all 5 got it except NYU. Now when i applied to UBC, they asked me which other school i applied to and i only mentioned NYU. So now I want you guys to tell me considence or wat??

Hey, that happened to me too. (the DAT not being submitted). I told them that I had submitted it, and they had to check again. Sure enough it was there, and then they said that they will NOW put my application into the complete group. WTF.! Next application round, I am calling EVERY school (even tho they say not to so do) to confirm that my application is complete.

Anyways. I hope if they want to reject me, just send me an email. That way it would be faster. Mail takes forever. I rather know ASAP so i can plan ahead earlier. 😱

It took USC and Marquette 3 months to get my DAT score too. There was just something wrong with the electronic system

Also, LLU never even got my DAT score - not even now. They considered my application just with the faxed score I sent them.

CDA manages to screw over half the people, somehow. To be on the safe side, I faxed my scores to all schools. Most, if not all, schools will accept a fax to expedite the process.
My scores were also delayed. In fact, I hardly know of anyone who hasn't had the same problem.

Hah! Same here. It took my money order 3 months to get there too. Good thing NYU will consider your application without the secondary fee.

Yeah, CDA screwed me over too. It sucks cause Canadians have to wait for November scores... and that is way too late for the American schools (apparently). Not cool man.

anyways, i just got an invite from NYU but i'm turning it down so i hope it goes to you jazzyb. there is still time so keep your hopes up and start looking into prepping for next cycle just in case.

Thanx man!! I know ull enjoy UBC.. its a great place, great faculty and only 40-50 ppl so pretty small class size. Gud luk on the interview and if you need any other info bout Vancity.. jus lemme know!!
