No JOBS in pathology

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you're being paid $235K, then you have to be billing (and collecting) in the ballpark of $500K.
I get about that much while billing nearly $2M in academia. Perhaps not all of it gets collected, but I’d estimate that at least half does. I have no clue how it compares to private practice jobs, but it does feel wrong.

Double it, or if you're lucky and can find it, triple it. And double or triple your vaca time.

Because it is wrong.

Are we talking about global billing or just professional billing? You would literally have to work 80+ hours/week with no vacation to bill $2 million/year professionally.

How much would 305/307/309 PC approximately be?

How did you come up with 2M in billing not knowing this ??
I’m getting a report on what I bill, but it only shows limited info. Octopus is probably right - it must be a sticker price. I don’t know how much insurance companies actually pay. I’m in academia on salary so I’m not supposed to know. That’s why I’m asking.

For the sake of god I hope you aren’t in these pseudoacademic high volume private groups where the most senior people are making bank off of your hard labor. You’re paying for these clowns’ pension fund.

Professional slavery.

If so get your experience and gtfo and take your skills to greener pastures.

Guys and gals don’t be subservient. Know your value.

We can only work so long and god forbid you don’t get sick or disabled. Make sure you are being paid fairly for your services and understand how much you may be making for greeedy pathologists who are milking you dry.

I’ve seen some junior pathologists overworked and I hate to see that happening to good people.

Agree. These groups are looking for suckers to do a brunt of the work while the senior people are doing less. Don’t fall for it. If you have no choice then you have no choice but always look for better opportunities if you can and try not to make someone else rich off of your hard work.

These groups are only able to exist because pathologists are willing to take the job. In an overcrowded market, some paths have to take these jobs if they want to live in the city since there are few other options.

These senior people are literally making money off of the work of each of the younger pathologists and that adds up to their grandkids trust fund ($$$$).
