That is what I thought I just want to make sure I am making an informed decision.

Anyway... I'd suggest checking the application deadlines at programs you'd like to apply and as long as the deadline hasn't passed it's worth a shot. There might be places that would give you a shot still - if not now, maybe in January when many people end up canceling some interviews.
