I interviewed at UPenn early December, and I was told I would receive a response before Christmas. However, to this day I have not yet received a response from UPenn. I know for a fact that several students I interviewed with that day have received their acceptances/responses before Christmas. I called UPenn last week, and I was told that the Committee has not yet made a decision and I would be notified when they do. What does this situation usually mean? I am going to be rejected? waitlisted? accepted?
Why is it taking much longer in my case? Any reason why they are taking so much longer to decide for me?
Thanks

I would assume waitlisted. They also told me we'd hear back before the winter break. I interviewed Dec 9th and already received my acceptance. I also remember them saying no news is good news. I guess if you're really curious, you could call Corky but I think someone else on here already did that and was basically told waitlisted or no decision yet.

Why is no news good news?
Why do they waitlist some and accept others?

I think I read that there is no real or official "waitlist" at UPenn. Your situation is what it is...that they haven't yet made a decision either way yet. If you'd like to think of it as being "waitlisted", then thats okay too.

BTW, has anyone who's interviewed been rejected from Penn? Or do they just send acceptances and hold off on the rest until they are done interviewing to send a final status?
