sorry if aim sounding too rude but thats how its making me feel after looking at the "views" and "replys".

1)Which of the following structures contains both ascending and descending fibers to/frm cerebral cortex
A. ventral pons
B. pyramidal tracts
C. medial lemniscus
D internal capsule
E medial forebrain bundle

2) Which of the following represents primary function of lysosome in steroid producing cell?
A. digest cellular debris
B. hydrolyze spent cellular organelles
C. remove excess steroids from the cell
D. remove steroid precursors from the cell
E. cleave the ester from cholesterol ester to produce free cholesterol

3)How many nucleotides are needed to code for protein with 150 amino acids?

A. 50
B. 150
C. 300
D. 450>>>> How do you calculate this?
E. 600

4)When is prevotella first detectable in the oral cavity?
-at birth
-adolescent
-when caries are present
-long after caries are gone
-after perio disease
-during perio disease
5)when is DNA conc inside a cell lowest?

6)exopthalmos, neuro probs, post pit not making enough ADH due to?

7)39 y/o female comes in dental office w/acute necrotizing perio dz, pain, lymphadenopathy, fever. Normal RBCs, normal platelets. No significant med Hx.
What??: multiple myeloma, chronic lympho leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, thrombocytopenia.

You got my attention this time, but sorry I have no clue for the Q's. Where did you get these hard questions?

Q6.Hand Schuller Christian disease:Findings:
a.diabetes Insipidus
b.exopthalamus
c.lesions of skull

Q7.a/c mylogenous lukemis
I feel this is the answer,39 yrs old hence rules out CLL(in elders)and multiple myeloma-bone lesions,Mspike ....is more characteristeic.
pls correct me.

1 internal cap
2 e ( Once the C:LDL binds to the receptor, the complex enters the cell by endocytosis. The C:LDL:Receptor complex is digested by an enzyme called Lysosome Cholesterol Esterase c is cholesterol)
3 three times nucleotides always needed to code
4 adolescent not sure (second colonisers of oral cavity)
5 is it some stage in mitosis? needs to know the choice
6 dont know
7 aml

Sorry, i do not have too much clue on it. It seems hard. But i suggest u to refer to the textbooks which should be very thorough. Only sure the ans 3 is 450.
:luck:

Very hard questions...... i'm sure many people who read them don't really know the answer so don't get upset. Here are my answer's.......

Ans 1 - Internal Capsule (100% sure)
pyramidal tract has only descending fibers
medial leminiscus has only ascending fibers

Ans 3- 450 because you need 3 nucleotides for each amino....3X150=300

Ans 6- I agree with dent02....Hand Schuller Christian Disease

Ans 7 - i would think it's AML because it increases chances of
infection plus affects the bone...hence periodontitis, and there are
normal RBC and platelet count.

A. 50

E. 600

replication-------------->transcription--------->translation
At translation, necleotides are converted into a.a.
It means there is a translation fron nucleotide language to protein language
Each anticodon has only 3 nucleotides and those 3 nucleotides are going to form (be traslated to) only one single a.a.

if you have 450 nucleotides, those are going to be translated into 150 a.a
450/3=150
I hope this help
