No Ophtho Program at my Med School

I am very interested in ophtho, but unfortunately my school does not have an ophtho program. I have been working with a local retina doc in his clinic since last year. I am interested in doing research. Any advice on how to make connections with the academic ophtho world or advice for selecting and prepping for away rotations? Thanks 🙂

Hey EyeCan, welcome to the forum! I'd decide which institute you'd like to pick (local vs. away) and contact (e-mail) a senior professor who does something you have an interest in ( diabetic retinopathy, angiogenesis, open angle glaucoma, etc. ). Just honestly describe your situtation and politely ask if there are any research opportunities available. 9/10 times you'll get a yes.
