Hey,

I'm unfamiliar with deadlines and cost changes regarding when you register, but fear not. Spots open up DAILY. Don't register for the spot 2 hours away from your house. I'm positive the centers near your home will open up soon as more and more students cancel because they realize they aren't ready for the June 29th mcat date. You'll be fine.

I know this cause I frequently did register/switch test centers etc. ultimately to realize that people reserve spots months in advance and then end up cancelling.

I am trying to take the MCAT June 29 but the seats are all taken near my house. The closest one is 2 hours away. This is my first time taking the MCAT and signing up so I am kind of new to this.
1)Can I sign up for the one 2 hours away and switch it later if s seat opens up near me?
2)Also, when is the last date you can switch/register? I tried finding these answers online but they varied.
3)Should I sign up for the 2 hour drive one to at least ensure I get to take it?
4)And is taking it in late June considered "late" because I'm trying to get into med school in 2018

Thanks for the help.

1) Yes.
2) MCAT Registration Deadlines
3) Yes. Having your date set and paying the $$ is a big motivator to study on schedule.
4) Here you can see when your score will be released. Looks like you'll be fine.
U.S. MCAT Testing Calendar and Score Release Dates

Edit: I was going to say that I set my date back in January for April 28 and the closest I could get was 2.5 hours. For me, it was better not to be switching around and just get my Airbnb reservation and commit to my date and location... for others, the uncertainty may not be problematic.

Good luck!
