I know plenty of classmates who didn't shadow but had plenty of scribing experience. You'll be fine but it wouldn't hurt to shadow in a field that interests you.

Hey all,

I'm applying to both DO/MD schools in the upcoming cycle and am worried about my lack of shadowing. I am hesitant to even calls docs at the moment due to the pandemic. But, I do have 500 hours of scribing where I had the opportunity to work with physicians directly. How will my lack of shadowing be viewed by adcoms and will my experience scribing be sufficient? (I also have 250+ hours of hospital volunteering in the ED and Labor and Delivery) Thanks!
Scribing is paid shadowing. It also counts as patient contact experience as well!
