I interviewed at stony brook but did not receive a call...(ie no acceptance). Should I call them up and ask where I stand regarding rejection/waitlisted?? It's my top choice.

I would just wait until the offical letter of being wait listed/rejected comes in the mail electronically. If you are wait listed call the dean like he said and express that SB is your #1. He was very kind and with persistence you may get in. GL and hopefully you will be in my class next year. 🙂
It takes FOREVER to get your Waitlist email from Stony.. I think I got mine at the end of January or February last year and I interviewed in October... I wouldn't wait for the email.. Maybe a letter of intent?
