Hey, I took the August MCAT and was verified on the 17th of August. Is UCSF waiting for my MCAT scores before I get a secondary or should I wait, or am I to assume I'm rejected?

well, considering that there have been plenty of people on this site who took the april mcat and still havent heard back, i see no reason to think you have been rejected.

Don't worry. I took the April MCAT and still haven't received UCSF's secondary. Then again, I am an out of stater. I am not so sure how strict UCSF is on giving out secondary to CA residents. Good luck. 🙂

i doubt there is a preference. Me, I haven't received one and im a CA resident. received UCLA, UCSD, UCD, and UCI...

they interview whoever they send their secondaries to, that's what I heard.. cuz for cali residents, you sign the sheet and turn it in. as simple as pie.

I doubt it ... that would be 1400 interviews. I don't know how UCSF narrows it down after the secondary, though. I'm thinking that they just look at AMCAS in more depth.

hey guys, don't give up hope. i was verified in june, took april mcat and am out-of-state so I'd pretty much given up on UCSF since I hadn't heard from them yet. HOWEVER, today I got an email from them asking me to complete the secondary!!!! I guess they are still in the midst of going through them.

Correct, about 500 interviews, about 230 acceptances for a class size of 141.

so everyone knows, all the UC's have a status check site; I was processed Aug 7 or so and UCSF recieved my amcas according to the site on the 23. So they are slow...

i took the august, but got sent a secondary before the score release. evidently, ucsf has some kind of MCAT 'projection' formula that they use based on your different GPA(s)

You are still in the game. I verified earlier than you(two weeks?), I received UCSF about a week ago. I don't know whether they are waiting for your MCAT. Even if they are not, it simply takes time for them to make up their minds. It is a great school and worth all the waiting.

i was verified early and ucsf received my info mid july. this is what their site says:

Thank you for applying to the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Your file is ready for review to determine if you will be selected to submit a secondary application. If you are selected to receive a secondary application you will be sent an email and it will be posted to this website. If not selected for secondary processing, you will be notified of your status by regular U.S. mail. Actions occur within approximately three to ten weeks after receipt of your verified amcas data.

i finally received mine last week from ucsf. i got it via e-mail. was processed 7/29

i still haven't heard from ucla or ucsd.

i don't think we need to worry yet.
