I wouldn't worry..it really does take a lot of these schools a long time to apply (esp. the uc's...ive been done for 3 weeks and ahvent heard a word). The fastest interview invite i got suny-upstate which was basically right after they got my recs but a lot of other schools take 3,4,5...weeks .

I've been complete at schools for over 2 months without hearing anything, you got plenty more waiting coming your way.

Way worse... because you had a definite date to wait for cat scores. This bites heiney. I've been complete for... oh, i don't know... feels like seven or eight years now!?!?!? 😀 Juuuuust got my 1st interview invite last week.

So, let me tell ya... once you get that invite, you start festering on the idea that it's the ONLY one so far, and that it's REALLY REALLY important to do well, because it could be YOUR ONLY SHOT...

the psychosis doesn't go away, it just changes focus. 👎

Sorry to sound so down... here's a little happier note...

Today I was sitting in biochem and the lecture was about Keq and calculating blah blah blah. And I was thinking how boring and irritating and why the hell did I attend lecture today? And then I thought about Gen Chem II, when I FIRST learned these calculations, and that was TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO!! Sometimes it seems like ten years ago... but sometimes it seems like yesterday.

So, we've slogged through this stuff for a long time... time-line wise, this is not very long.

I was walking out to my car and one of my former students (I teach labs) asked me how app's were going... we talked for a bit and he turned to his wife and said, "Don't you wish it was OUR year to apply??!?!?!" So... no matter how irritating, there are a bazillion people who would give body parts to be in our shoes.

Best of luck.

coverme thanks a lot.....you gave me some peace of mind.....and oh yeah Gen Chem hahaha I had to think for a minute if I even took that class. So long ago

I had the same thought the other day. I was teaching a gen chem class last week (I'm the TA) and was talking to some of the students who want to become physicians. One of them mentioned that they can't wait to become a doctor. The one thought going through my mind was, "You have a looooonnnnggg way to go!" if you can't wait now. Anxious freshman = really stressed out SDN member in 3 or 4 years 😀 😀 There is no way I would trade places with these people.

because of my recommendations being late, i was complete at about the same time and have heard nothing, do u mind me askign your stats, are u an august mcater, i am not

I've been complete for over 2 months too. All I've gotten so far are rejections. No good news. You are not alone.

Dont stress Dr. Z you'll get that one olden interview

Yeah, I have been complete for most MD places for a while. The one thing that takes the edge off is that I already got accepted at OU-COM (DO school) and have other DO interviews....so, whatever.

I'm happy with my position right now.
