A uworld question stated that:

Nf-kb stimulates cytokine product. NOD2 stimulates NF-kB.
Crohn's disease prob related to NOD2 mutation which INCREASES NF-kB, allowing microbes to persist and cause inflammation. . . .

My question is.. doesn't NF-kB increase inflammatory response? Why would increasing NF-kB allowing microbes to survive and cause chronic inflammation, when this doesn't occur when NF-kB isn't increased? Confused... [the explanation mentioned increased NFkB.. and the education objective mentioned it again..]
Thanks

simply the mutation lead to excess activation of nf-kb pathway which result in excesss realease of cytokines

oh i didnt notice microbes in uworld
may be there is eroor in explanation bcz the mutation in nfkb decrease cytokine realese and increase survival of bacteria can you give the id number of question
